| Full-time
summer crew: We are looking for two students to be part of a full-time summer field crew that may spend extended periods in the field collecting soils and assessing soil conditions according to a set protocol. The student must be willing to travel to sites in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming and to work outdoors under a variety of environmental conditions and on varying terrain. The student must be trainable in our field methods, easy to work with, willing to learn new things, and take required training in First Aid/CPR, Defensive Driving, and other areas as the agency requests. Field work will be supplemented with laboratory work when field assignments are not consecutive. Salary will likely be at the GS-4 level ($12.36/hr) for applicants with a qualifying science background. Better than the pay is the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of settings while working for a Research lab. Please send student cover letters and resume's to Debbie Page-Dumroese, Research Soil Scientist, at ddumroese@fs.fed.us or Joanne Tirocke, Biological Technician, at jtirocke@fs.fed.us . |
