M.S. Assistantship: Remote-sensing Supported Digital Soil Mapping
(Water Conservation Area 2A, Everglades, FL)   


Research interests: GIS, remote sensing, soil mapping, and quantitative analysis.

This person will be responsible for extensive sampling of the soil in the Everglades for the purposes of digital soil mapping of soil physical and chemical properties. The individual will work closely with the NRCS in the area and use the collected data in a GIS-geostatistical environment. The applicant should be interested in both field work and geospatial analysis of the data. An MS applicant is preferred, but well-qualified PhD candidates should apply. The first semester will be spent primarily in the field engaged in field sampling. It is also possible to work full-time for the Spring semester doing the sampling, then commence the graduate degree in the summer term.
